About Us

KATE KIMMIS
Director of Theatre
Mrs. Kimmis has been teaching theatre since graduating Baylor University (Sic ‘em Bears!) in 2015 with degrees in Theatrical Performance and Literature with a minor in Music Performance. She spent 5 years teaching in Mesquite ISD before coming to Rockwall Heath High School. She first fell in love with theatre when she played the Mayor of Munchkin City in fourth grade and has been passionate about visual storytelling ever since. She hopes that in her department you will learn how storytelling is an important foundation in all societies. It teaches us how to connect and communicate with each other, to feel and think deeply, and to creatively express the way we see the world. Mrs. Kimmis wrote her thesis play at Baylor with Emmy award winning screenwriter SJ Murray, as well as worked with other brilliant professors to teach her dramaturgy, acting, directing, and music so that she can have a wide variety of knowledge to pass to her students.
